This is the depiction of a feeling, it can have different readings; in one hand, the obvious, he has been dump, she's not coming. In the other hand, he's still waiting, that damn hope that lingers... he's picturing himself in another place, hes not there where things aren't working.

Maybe he'll stay there for awhile before snapping out..
